What a reviewable deliverable looks like

Illustrative example only. This is not a client project, a quotation or evidence of completed work. The dimensions and quantities are made up to show how the records connect. No client documents are used.

1. Drawing mark-up and take-off

The measurement is linked to its drawing reference: ILL-01, revision A.

Illustrative rectangular slab measurementA rectangle 8 metres long and 3 metres wide, with an assumed depth of 0.2 metres.8 m3 mMeasured slab areaDepth: 0.2 mILL-01, revision A — illustrative, not to scale
8 × 3 × 0.2 = 4.80 m³

Net geometric volume only. Waste, reinforcement, formwork, excavation, finish and any other scope must be considered separately.

2. BoQ and pricing record

The quantity, source and pricing basis sit together. A price is only filled in once the rate and its inclusions have been checked.

Concrete slab — measurement exampleILL-01, revision A4.80 m³To be confirmed from the agreed pricing basisQuantity × agreed rate; not priced in this example

No construction rate is suggested here. This shows the record format, not a budget or tender price.

3. Quantity-change comparison

If the illustrative length changes to 9 m, keeping the same width and depth:

Original quantity
4.80 m³
Revised quantity
5.40 m³
Measured difference
+0.60 m³

A measured difference is not automatically an agreed variation or a payment entitlement. The instruction, contract basis and applicable rate still need review.
